by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

With Colin Kaepernick involved in a "suspicious incident" that he claims he had no wrongdoing in, he and the 49ers have put contract extension talks on hold

NFL Network reports that the Niners are the ones who pumped the brakes on a new deal, but it wasn't like a new deal was close to happening anyway. Per the report, the two sides were not close on terms. The deal is expected to eventually carry a value at $18 million per season.

Kaepernick indicent: Lockette called 911 twice
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette appears to be the one who called 911 in regards to the incident involving a woman ending up in the hospital following an evening spent with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, 49ers receiver Quiton Patton and Lockette on April 2.

According to a police report obtained by WINZ-AM in Miami, Lockette called 911 twice after the woman refused to leave his apartment. Miami police confirmed to CSN Bay Area that the new police report is accurate, but they declined further comment because Miami police didn't make the report public.

Lockette called police at 12:03 a.m. and 12:20 a.m. on April 2 because a woman was lying naked on Kaepernick's bed and refused to leave. Miami Fire Rescue was eventually dispatched to the apartment and the woman was taken to the hospital around 12:32 a.m.

Kaepernick, Lockette and Patton were all named in the original incident report, which was filed by the unnamed woman on April 3 and released to the public April 10. The incident report doesn't make any accusations against anyone, but the woman did say that after getting naked in front of Kaepernick, he left the room. After that, she woke up in a hospital room and didn't "remember how she got there or who transported her to the hospital." The woman also mentioned alcohol and marijuana in the incident report.

Kaepernick has maintained that he did nothing wrong. As of Monday, no charges have been filed and the incident is still under investigation.

Colin Kaepernick responds to 'suspicious' allegations
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took to Twitter on Friday to deny any wrongdoing in a police investigation in Miami involving two other NFL players and a woman. Per the report, a woman woke up in a hospital after spending time with Kaepernick and players Quinton Patton and Ricardo Lockette and had no idea how she got there.

"The charges made in the TMZ story and other stories I've seen are completely wrong," Kaepernick said in a series of posts on his official Twitter account. "They make things up about me that never happened. I take great pride in who I am and what I do, but  I guess sometimes you have to deal with someone who makes things up. I want to thank all of the people who have shared their encouraging sentiments. I assure you that your faith is not misplaced."

Colin Kaepernick among those named in 'suspicious incident'
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was one of three people named in a Miami-Dade County police report surrounding a "suspicious incident" in South Florida on April 1.

A spokesperson for the police told CBSSports.com that Kaepernick is not being investigated but that they're following up on an information report involving him.

Per the report, obtained by CBSSports.com, the woman claims she woke up in a hospital bed without knowledge of how she got there following a visit to see Kaepernick, former 49ers and current Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette and Niners wideout Quinton Patton in a Miami-area hotel. It's made clear that Kaepernick and the victim had a previous physical relationship.

"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent media report regarding Colin Kaepernick and is in the process of gathering the pertinent facts," general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement.

Boldin expects big year for Colin Kaepernick
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

49ers receiver Anquan Boldin is expecting quarterback Colin Kaepernick to play well this year, and he's excited for his development heading into the 2014 season.

Kaepernick started his first full season in 2013 and has been a dynamic playmaker the past two years, but Boldin said in an interview with CBSSports.com this could be his best year yet.

"People criticize for him not being a conventional, prototypical quarterback, but there isn't anything that I've seen the prototype quarterback do that he can't do," Boldin said. "He can make every throw on the field, he's a smart guy but he's athletic. When things break down, he's able to make plays. You just look at the playoffs alone, you see him running wild over defenses. He's going to be something to deal with for a lot of years to come. He's still young, he's still learning but he's still willing to listen. He takes advice, but that's still good."

Kaepernick had a solid season in 2013 with 3,197 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions and 92 carries for 524 yards and four touchdowns. He should improve on those stats this season with his full complement of weapons.

The key for Kaepernick going from good to great is likely his rushing prowess, and Boldin said he encourages Kaepernick to run as much as possible.

"My advice to him is any time it's there, run it," Boldin said. "You have the ability. It scares the crap out of defenses whenever you have a quarterback that can take off and get 40 yards on a scramble. Use all the weapons that you have."
