49ers OC on Kaepernick: 'He's playing with a lot of confidence'
by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is primed to enjoy another excellent season at center for a perennial playoff contender. Or at least that's what his offensive coordinator Geep Chryst sees, according to the team website.

Chryst, who is stepping in for his first year as the offensive coordinator, says he's seen a lot of progress with Kaepernick on the field and that's boosting his confidence.

"He's playing with a lot of confidence," Chryst said, per the team. "I think he's having fun playing football. I think it's awful important to him, so how do you catch the right balance between, I'm serious here and it's still great to be with my teammates?"

Kaepernick has adopted the leader role for the 49ers, which is a crucial part of his development, according to Chryst.

"There's a serious side to Colin about working hard," Chryst said. "There's a side where he'll get on people if we're not operating, and then there's that side where you feel confidence and you see within his demeanor - that's a positive."

Kaepernick passed for 3,369 yards and 19 touchdowns last season.

49ers WR Anquan Boldin to Colin Kaepernick: 'Be yourself'
by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is in the midst of an offseason evolution of his game, but he has one supporter in wide receiver Anquan Boldin, who said in a radio interview that the signal-caller should not reinvent the wheel, per NFL.com.

"To be honest with you I think he just has to block out everything else around him, stop listening to what people want, what people have to say about you, stop listening to what people want to see you do and just be yourself," Boldin said.

Kaepernick, who has been working with former QB Kurt Warner, completed 60.5 percent of his passes in 2014, throwing for 3,369 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 639 yards and one touchdown on the ground.

49ers GM on Colin Kaepernick: 'Working his tail off right now'
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

49ers general manager Trent Baalke spoke about quarterback Colin Kaepernick at the NFL Combine Thursday, saying the signal caller is "working his tail off right now," per the team's website.

"He’s down in Arizona," Baalke said. "He’s working hard with [former NFL QB and current NFL Network analyst] Kurt [Warner] and several other people. We’ve had a little bit of communication through this first part of the break. But, I know he’s working awfully hard. He knows what he needs to work on. He’s a very dedicated player and I’m sure he feels good about the progress he’s made up to this point. The only reason you go down there and do the things he’s doing is to get better. That’s the mindset and I think he feels comfortable with where he’s at and hopefully that transfers to the field."

Baalke also addressed the parts of Kaepernick's game on which he's working in Arizona, saying, "I know that what he’s down there working on is just all the technique things that go along with the position; footwork, delivery, changing platforms, throwing platforms, arm angle. He’s working on all of that stuff. And, being able to take a little pace off of the ball when he needs to take some pace off of it."

Kaepernick completed 60.5 percent of his passes in 2014, throwing for 3,369 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 639 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
