Jacoby Jones makes minimal contributions Week 2
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones made minimal contributions Week 2 against the Steelers.

Jones caught one pass for 4 yards. He also received one carry for 2 yards. Jones also had two punt returns, including a 33 yard return, during the contest. He'll take on the Browns Week 3.

Jacoby Jones happy for reunion with Kubiak
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones is happy to be reunited with offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, who was his head coach in Houston, reports ESPN.

Jones even referred to Kubiak as his "biological father" because he never knew his own.

"I need to get that DNA test," said Jones, who played under Kubiak from 2007 to 2011 in Houston. "I'm going to steal his coffee and swab the cup and figure it out. I have to make sure. I hope my mother doesn't see this. She'll kill me."

Jones just hopes Kubiak gives him more time on offense in Baltimore. In five seasons in Kubiak's offense, Jones only caught more than 31 passes in a season once. While he's been a playmaker for the Ravens, he still only has a combined 67 catches in two seasons.

Jones would like more of a chance to play receiver, but it will be tough after the Ravens added wide receiver Steve Smith and tight end Owen Daniels to go along with Torrey Smith, Dennis Pitta and Marlon Brown. Jones may find himself No. 6 on Joe Flacco's pecking order this season.

"[I'm] trying to be one of the best receivers in the league," Jones said. "[I'm going to] try and play my role when they call my number, to show [I can] make that play."

Ravens have options at receiver
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings that Marlon Brown still has a chance to be a quality playmaker even though the team added Steve Smith this offseason and brought back Jacoby Jones. Torrey Smith is also there as the No. 1 receiver.

"He's competing for a starting spot," Harbaugh said. "It's not a two-receiver league anymore. It’s not like you’ve got your two starters and then your No. 3 guy is a slot receiver. That’s the way that people kind of want to label it. It’s just more complex than that. And with Jacoby, you’ve got four guys right there that are going to play a lot of football. And one thing I think (offensive coordinator) coach (Gary) Kubiak does a great job of is he understands how to put guys in a position to play to their strengths. He knows Jacoby very well, and Jacoby has only gotten better since he's been here. He's matured as a player and a person. Steve Smith has certain things that he does extremely well. So does Marlon Brown, and Marlon's going to obviously, I would think, make leaps and bounds from Year 1 to Year 2. ... Gary’s got some guys that he’s excited to work with, so I can't wait to see how he uses them."

Joe Flacco, receivers to get early start
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will work out with his receivers before the team's offseason program.

"Joe has communicated that through texts, and Torrey [Smith] has told me that they have a session planned and are trying to work out the dates," coach John Harbaugh said at the NFL owners meetings. "I'll be looking forward to seeing how it goes. It is important. It's big."

Flacco's receiving corps includes Torrey Smith, Steve Smith, Marlon Brown, Jacoby Jones and tight end Dennis Pitta. Flacco threw 19 touchdowns and a career-high 22 interceptions last year.

Giants checking out Ted Ginn?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

The Giants have shown interest in free agent receiver Ted Ginn, the Newark Star-Ledger reports. Ginn is an option for the Giants after missing on Jacoby Jones, who re-signed with the Ravens. Ginn had 556 receiving yards despite limited snaps and revitalized the return game for the Panthers last season, averaging 23.8 yards per kick return and 12.2 yards per punt return.
