Jarius Wright catches four passes in Week 7 loss
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright caught all four of his targets for 60 yards in his team's 17-16 loss to the Bills in Week 7.

Wright was able to convert a third-and-18 in the fourth quarter by hauling in a 28-yard reception that was upheld upon review, and he extended the drive with another third-down conversion to put the team in a first-and-goal scenario. The Vikings took a six-point lead later in the drive on a field goal, and the inability to reach the end zone on the drive came back to haunt them when the Bills took a lead with one second left on the clock. Wright has 22 receptions for 273 yards going into Sunday's Week 8 matchup with the Buccaneeers.

Vikings pass catchers fail to do much Week 6
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

The Vikings pass catchers failed to produce much Week 6.

Tight end Chase Ford finished second in receiving after catching four passes for 37 yards. Greg Jennings managed to come up with three catches for 33 yards. Charles Johnson also got into the act, catching two passes for 22 yards. Jarius Wright, who has been strong lately, caught four balls, but gained just 17 yards. He did have a rushing attempt, and gained 21 yards. Rhett Ellison caught one pass for 4 yards.

The group will take on the Bills Week 7.

Vikings WR Jarius Wright leads team in targets Week 5
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Vikings wideout Jarius Wright led the way in targets Week 5 against the Packers.

The results weren't there despite eight targets. Wright hauled in three passes for just 27 yards during the contest. Wright was coming off a huge breakout game, in which he had eight receptions for 132 yards. While the overall numbers were down Week 5, Wright did at least receive attention from his quarterback.

Wright will look for more Week 6 against the Lions.

Steer clear of Vikings WR's Thursday
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com

The Vikings' receiving corps has had to deal with two different quarterbacks over the last two weeks, and they may see a third if Teddy Bridgewater's ankle injury forces him to sit out Thursday's game against the Packers in Week 5.

Though Bridgewater threw the ball well in his first start, it was little-used third receiver Jarius Wright who saw the bulk of the bump. Greg Jennings and Cordarrelle Patterson, the team's more well established duo, combined for just five receptions. Even if Bridgewater does play Thursday, we just don't have enough information on how he likes to use his receivers to know whether Sunday's game is the start of a pattern or not.

We really need to see more from Bridgewater before we can determine how he and the coaching staff wants to use his receivers. With nothing in the way of must-start players among this trio, you probably want to avoid using them in Week 5.

Chemistry in Jarius Wright's favor
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright's 132-yard performance Week 4 against Atlanta may seem like it came out of nowhere, but according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, it's no coincidence it came during rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's first NFL start. The two worked together on the second team this preseason and developed a chemistry.

"Teddy knew where to put the ball to me on a couple throws," Wright said. "I kind of knew where to expect the ball. Our reps paid off. A lot of trust."

Indeed, it wasn't just a big play or two that set Wright apart (though he had his share of those, including a 52-yard catch-and-run in the first quarter). Wright also led the Vikings in targets (10) and receptions (eight).

There may be something to this chemistry thing. Wright looked quick and deserving of a bigger role, especially since Cordarrelle Patterson hasn't lived up to the billing. Between him and Greg Jennings, the Vikings may have more mouths than they can realistically feed, but certainly in deeper leagues, Wright deserves a look off the waiver wire.
