Saints' Drew Brees: Held to 186 yards in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brees completed 21 of 31 passes for 186 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's 52-38 win over Detroit.

You'd have to go back to Week 12 of the 2013 season for the last time Brees was held under 200 passing yards. The fact the Saints defense generated two pick-sixes and the team was in position for much of the second half to try to run out the clock can be seen as contributing factors. Brees himself threw an ugly pick-six late Sunday and snapped his four-game streak without an interception to start the season. Expect Brees to return to his more typical statistical output next week against a reeling Packers squad.

Saints' Drew Brees: Thrives in second half
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brees completed 29 of 41 passes for 268 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-0 victory over the Dolphins in London.

Brees and the rest of the offense put together a sluggish first half, but the prolific passer picked things up considerably following halftime. The 17-year veteran hooked up with Michael Thomas for a three-yard score on the first possession of the second half, capping off an 11-play, 77-yard drive. He then tallied the Saints' final points of the day with a 12-yard throw to Alvin Kamara, which put a bow on another 11-play march. Brees has only one 300-yard effort thus far this season, but he's posted at least a 70-percent completion rate in three contests to go along with a sterling 8:0 TD:INT. He'll look to keep his excellent start going in Week 6 versus the Lions following a Week 5 bye.

Saints' Drew Brees: Throws three touchdowns in win over Panthers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brees completed 22 of 29 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday's 34-13 win over the Panthers.

Brees efficiently completed 76 percent of his passes while hooking up with nine different receivers. He connected with Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn and Brandon Coleman for scores, deferring to the run game after building a comfortable lead. Brees has been outstanding through three weeks in 2017, throwing six touchdowns compared to no interceptions while averaging 289 yards per game. He will look to keep it up next week against a Dolphins team that was just beaten handily by the Jets.

Saints' Drew Brees: Tosses two touchdowns
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brees completed 27 of 45 passes for 356 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 36-20 loss to New England. He also fumbled during the contest.

As was the case in Week 1 against Minnesota, a late touchdown toss made the beat-down look a bit more palatable than it actually was, but make no mistake about New Orleans' early performance - it hasn't been good. Brees lost Brandin Cooks who, even when not utilized was capable of keeping defenses honest, in the offseason and he essentially replaced him with Ted Ginn Jr. Perhaps most troubling, New Orleans' defensive struggles have put the team's offense in a bind by taking away the run. This style of play is conducive to a ton of attempts for Brees, but will make it hard for the Saints to punch it into the end zone as defenses play conservative while preserving big leads.

Saints' Drew Brees: Throws touchdown late in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brees completed 27 of 37 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown in Monday night's loss to the Vikings.

Brees did his best to lead an offense that averaged just 2.9 yards on 21 rushing attempts. In the end, though, New Orleans was forced to kick three field goals on drives that stalled inside the opposing six-yard line. While that left the Saints short on the scoreboard, Brees was able to convert in the red zone on the team's final drive, when he found tight end Coby Fleener for an eight-yard touchdown. Following a frustrating Week 1 showing, Brees and company are tasked with turning things around against the Patriots this Sunday.
