Reggie Bush says he can play several more years
by Larry Hartstein |

Lions running back Reggie Bush, 29, said there's no reason he can't play several more years. "I wasn’t taking a huge pounding early on in my NFL career," he told the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I didn’t get a lot of carries. I wasn’t getting 20 to 30 carries. I was splitting time a lot. I think that kind of helped me in the long run. I went through my share of injuries, but I still feel pretty good."

Bush ran for 1,006 yards last year and caught 54 passes, his most since 2007.

Reggie Bush says new Lions offense same as the Saints offense
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

Reggie Bush said Wednesday that the new Lions offense is "exactly the same" as the Saints offense he was used in back when he was in New Orleans.

"The new system, like I said, I played in the system five years in New Orleans so all the terminology's pretty much the same to me," Bush told the Detroit Free Press. "We definitely have what it takes to be an explosive offense, just as we were last year. Just got to clean up doing the little things right and we'll be OK."

In five years with the Saints, Bush played in 60 games and averaged 34.8 rush yards and 35.7 receiving yards per contest with 29 total touchdowns. It remains to be seen if Bush will be used exactly the same way or if he'll continue to work as a traditional running back in addition to as a receiver out of the backfield.

The Lions offense is going to be awesome
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

So it appeared for weeks the Lions wanted to move up to select receiver Sammy Watkins from Clemson. Maybe they didn't offer enough to jump up to No. 4 like the Bills, who drafted Watkins. Or maybe they were hoping if they stayed put at No. 10 that an elite player would land in their lap.

That's what happened on Thursday night when they drafted tight end Eric Ebron from North Carolina.

Think about this offense now. Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, Joique Bell and now Ebron. The only downside about this pick is Joseph Fauria loses all sleeper appeal, but we can live with that. He'll still score a few touchdowns, but Ebron could be a star.

You can't double cover him because of Johnson and Tate, and new offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi comes from New Orleans, where Jimmy Graham was a dominant force. The Lions wanted an upgrade at tight end, and Ebron is the answer.

He should be considered a potential starter in all Fantasy leagues with a late-round pick, and he's a late first-round selection in rookie-only drafts. The Lions are going to be fun to watch in 2014.

Lombardi: Expect split for Reggie Bush, Joique Bell
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

It continues to appear that the Lions will use more of Joique Bell and less of Reggie Bush in 2014, reports the Detroit Free Press.

New Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi on Monday said both running backs have the chance to play a lot.

"I see these guys kind of having a split role and both being very productive," Lombardi said.

Both Bush and Bell totaled over 1,100 yards last year, with Bush getting 1,006 rush yards and 506 receiving yards. Bell had 650 rush yards and 547 receiving yards. Both had over 50 catches.

Bell did his damage on 166 carries while Bush had 223.

Reggie Bush accepting of new workload for him, Joique Bell
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

Lions running back Reggie Bush is fine with fewer snaps and touches this season. New head coach Jim Caldwell said he expected the balance between Bush and Joique Bell to change this season, especially since the playbook is based off of a Saints offense that utilized running backs as pass catchers a little more than most teams and as ball carriers a little bit less than most teams.

"We had a pretty good rotation going last (season), so, you know, we did some pretty special things with that," Bush said according to ESPN. "It can only go up from there, even if the workload is less for both of us, that’s only going to help us toward the end of the season, help us to stay healthy and probably play a little bit stronger and better toward the end of the season."

Both Bush and Bell totaled over 1,100 yards last year, with Bush getting 1,006 rush yards and 506 receiving yards. Bell had 650 rush yards and 547 receiving yards. Both had over 50 catches.
