"I have been playing good," the Cowboys right tackle said. "Still, there are a lot of things you’ve got to keep focusing on, keep working on. It’s never a one-and-done kind of thing. You’ve got to prove yourself each and every week. It’s a continual thing."

"Doug’s done a nice job," head coach Jason Garrett said. "He’s responded really well…. He really has been impressive since the start of OTAs, really trying to take advantage of the opportunity. I think he’s working on some technical things that will help him. I think he’s playing tougher and he’s staying on blocks, both as a pass protector but also in the run game."
The Cowboys signed free agent guards Mackenzy Bernadeau and Nate Livings a year ago for a combined $6.2 million. Bernadeau has been slow to adjust to a move to the left side while Livings has been sidelined since having knee surgery on August 16.

We thought that might be an option.”
