Norv Turner: Vikes' offense 'can be good real fast'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

New Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner hopes the team lands a dynamic young quarterback but believes running back Adrian Peterson remains the key to success, reports the Minneapolis StarTribune.

“We want to make big plays, we want to be an explosive offense, and we want to run the ball,” Turner said at his introductory press conference. With an offense that includes Peterson, receiver Greg Jennings and all-purpose threat Cordarrelle Patterson, Turner believes Minnesota can improve quickly.

“I looked at the roster, I looked at the offensive side of the ball," he said. "I think this is a group that can be real good, and I think we can be good real fast.”

Greg Jennings held under 50 yards
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings was held under 50 yards Week 17.

Jennings led the Vikings in receiving, but only had 44 yards. He did manage to catch five of his six targets. Jennings once again took a backseat to rookie Cordarrelle Patterson, who has emerged as a big threat in the second half.

Greg Jennings silenced with rest of passing game
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Established as the preferred target of a quarterback who had averaged 296.7 passing yards in his last three games, Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings seemed like a decent bet to perform Week 16 at Cincinnati even if he didn't quite match the 11 catches for 163 yards he had Week 15 against Philadelphia.

But then, that quarterback, Matt Cassel, didn't live up to his end of the bargain, completing 13 of 27 passes for 114 yards. Jennings remained his preferred target, leading the way with four receptions, but he had only 27 yards. His six targets were second-most on the team.

Jennings and the Vikings passing game as a whole will attempt to bounce back in Week 17. They have a decent matchup for it against the Lions.

Will stars align for Greg Jennings again?
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

Against an Eagles defense that ranks 31st against the pass, Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings exploded for 11 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown last week. In three games since Matt Cassel replaced Christian Ponder at quarterback, he's averaging 7.7 catches for 98.0 yards, scoring two touchdowns and getting no fewer than nine targets.

So what's stopping him from having another big game Week 16 at Cincinnati? Namely, the Bengals defense, which ranks seventh against the pass, allowing 219.6 yards per game, and has given up the 11th-fewest Fantasy points to wide receivers.

True, the Bengals aren't invincible to the pass. Just a couple weeks ago, they gave up six catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns to the Colts' Da'Rick Rogers, a complete unknown at the time. Jennings is clearly Cassel's favorite target, and the Vikings' passing game has a good thing going.

So no, you wouldn't be crazy to start Jennings in Fantasy. Jamey Eisenberg, Dave Richard and Nathan Zegura all rank him in their top 24 at wide receiver for this week. But understand that last week's performance had as much to do with the Eagles' shortcomings as Jennings' abilities.

Greg Jennings has monster game against Eagles
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Vikings WR Greg Jennings had a monster game Week 15 against the Eagles.

Jennings caught 11 passes for 163 yards and a score. He was targeted a team-high 13 times. Jennings flashed the big play ability he showed in Green Bay during the contest, catching passes of 22, 31 and 57 yards. He opened up the scoring for the Vikings with his 57 yard touchdown reception. It was Jennings' best game since joining the Vikings. All four of Jennings' touchdowns this season have come with Matt Cassel at quarterback.

Jennings will look to repeat Week 16 against the Bengals.
