Jordy Nelson delivers career-high 209 yards in Week 2 win
by R.J. White |

Packers wide recevier Jordy Nelson caught nine of his 16 targets for a career-high 209 yards and a touchdown in his team's 31-24 win over the Jets in Week 2.

Nelson already had 110 yards on the day before fooling a defender on a double move for 80 yards and a touchdown in the third quarter. It's staggering that he could have had an even bigger performance after catching just 56 percent of his targets. Nelson has been a beast in the early-going, racking up 18 catches on 30 targets for 292 yards and a touchdown. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 3 when the Packers travel to Detroit to face the Lions.

Jordy Nelson picks up yards despite tough matchup
by Chris Cwik |

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson managed a solid game despite a tough matchup Week 1.

Nelson led the team in receiving, catching nine passes for 83 yards during the contest. He was clearly Aaron Rodgers’ favorite receiver, leading the team with 14 targets. The Packers moved Nelson away from Richard Sherman throughout the game, ensuring he would make some plays. Green Bay did not throw a pass near Sherman during the game. Despite Nelson getting more favorable matchups, the Seahawks did a tremendous job limiting big plays. Nelson’s longest catch of the night went for just 16 yards. He averaged 9.2 yards per catch.

Nelson will take on the Jets Week 2.

Jordy Nelson in for a tough test Week 1
by Chris Cwik |

Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson should be in for a difficult test Week 1 against the Seahawks.

Nelson had a quiet preseason, catching just two passes for 19 yards. One of those catches wound up being a touchdown. Despite the lack of action during the preseason, Nelson’s upside with a healthy Aaron Rodgers is well-known among Fantasy owners. That said, he’s going to have to work for everything he gets against Seattle.

The Seahawks rated as the best defense in the league last year. They were strong in every facet of the game. Seattle held opposing wide receivers to just 14.79 Fantasy points per game, the second-lowest figure in the league. To make things even more difficult for Nelson, he’ll likely be covered by Richard Sherman. Sherman, by many counts, is arguably the best corner in the game.

Still, it’s tough to pass up Nelson’s upside with a healthy Rodgers. The Packers boast an overabundance of weapons, and it’s possible moving Nelson around before the play could put him in a more favorable matchup. Even if Sherman covers him the entire game, Nelson is a good enough receiver to make some noise. While he doesn’t have a great matchup, Week 1 is not the time to take a player as good as Nelson out of your Fantasy lineup.
