Packers' Jordy Nelson: Productive on first drive Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson hauled in both of his targets for 19 yards in Saturday's 21-17 preseason win over the Redskins.

Nelson notched his pair of receptions on back-to-back plays during the Packers' opening 15-play, 75-yard scoring drive, getting the ball into Redskins territory with an 11-yard catch before grabbing a quick eight-yard pass on the right to move the ball to the Washington 33-yard line. The veteran is slated to once again play an integral role in the team's high-powered offense in the coming campaign after having posted 97 receptions and 14 touchdowns last season, both representing the second-best totals of his career in those respective categories.

Packers' Jordy Nelson: Set to play Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson is expected to play Saturday against the Redskins, Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reports.

After sitting out last week's exhibition, Nelson should make his preseason debut Saturday. While it's uncertain how much playing time he'll actually get, Nelson should at least stay in the game for the first few offensive drives.

Packers' Jordy Nelson: Not playing Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nelson is unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.

Nelson suffered his most serious injury, a torn ACL, during preseason 2015, so there's not much to be gained by putting his health on the line during exhibition season. Green Bay's top three wide receivers are set in stone -- Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams -- meaning those outings are most important for Geronimo Allison, Trevor Davis and rookies DeAngelo Yancey and Malachi Dupre.

Packers' Jordy Nelson: Should continue to get slot work
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Packers coach Mike McCarthy wants Nelson to line up both outside and in the slot again this season,'s Rob Demovsky reports.

Primarily an outside receiver throughout his career, Nelson spent more time inside last season and averaged an NFL-best 2.75 yards per route run from the slot (min. 130 routes), per Pro Football Focus. While Randall Cobb still figures to man the slot in the team's base three-wide alignment, the Packers will move Nelson around to exploit various mismatches all over the field. The 32-year-old is locked in as the top option in one of the league's most prolific and efficient passing attacks.

Packers' Jordy Nelson: Finds pay dirt in NFC championship loss
by RotoWire Staff | Special to

Nelson (ribs) caught six of nine targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-21 NFC championship loss to the Falcons.

Nelson caught both of his targets for 42 yards on the first drive, but was held to just three receptions for 22 yards on his next six targets before getting into the end zone from three yards out late in the third quarter. The veteran wide receiver did well to even be out there after fracturing at least two ribs against the Giants two weeks ago. He should be fully healthy by the start of the 2017 campaign.
