Packers 'very confident' about Aaron Rodgers' status
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said the team's medical staff feels "very confident" about the health of quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who strained his hamstring in Sunday's loss at New Orleans, reports the Green Bay Press-Gazette. With Green Bay on a Week 9 bye, Rodgers is not expected to miss any time.

"So far, so good I would say is how we're looking at it," McCarthy said.

Offensive coordinator Tom Clements told the paper the injury eliminated "designed quarterback movement plays" but added he did not need to "revamp the whole plan."

Aaron Rodgers: 'I'm not going to miss any time'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said the hamstring injury he sustained in the third quarter Sunday night won't keep him out of the team's next game Nov. 9 against the Bears. "I'm not going to miss any time," Rodgers told reporters.

Following the injury, the Packers kept Rodgers in the shotgun and stopped calling rollouts and other plays that required him to move a lot, coach Mike McCarthy said. Green Bay is on a bye Week 9.

Aaron Rodgers throws for 418 yards but hurts hamstring
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was cruising Sunday night in New Orleans until hurting his left hamstring on a 7-yard run in the third quarter. Rodgers reached for his hamstring after the play and got it worked on by the training staff. He was far less mobile after that, but the good news is Green Bay has a bye Week 9.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers did not aggravate the injury by playing through it. "I thought he played smart and didn't put himself in position for further injury," McCarthy said.

Rodgers went 13 of 18 for 278 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He finished 28 of 39 for 418 yards with the one score and two interceptions. He also ran untouched for a 14-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, looking gimpy as he crossed the goal line.

Both of Rodgers' interceptions were deflected. The first ended his string of 212 passes without a pick. He had not thrown two interceptions in a game since Week 17 at Chicago last year.

Rodgers is off until Green Bay hosts the Bears on Nov. 9.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tosses three touchdowns Week 7
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers turned in another dominant effort, and a result, he sat out a portion of the final quarter in a comfortable 38-17 Week 7 victory over the Panthers at home on Sunday.

Rodgers got off to a fast start, hooking up with Jordy Nelson for a 59-yard strike on the opening drive. In the second quarter, he found Randall Cobb for a 3-yard score. He found rookie Davante Adams for a 21-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Rodgers compiled 255 yards through the air while completing 19 of 22 attempts. He added three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked twice and finished with a 154.5 passer rating. He rushed for 21 yards on three carries. He has 18 touchdowns and one interception through seven games.

Green Bay will travel to New Orleans for a showdown against the Saints in Week 8.

Packers' McCarthy: I've seen Aaron Rodgers play better
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn't thrown an interception since Week 1 and has the best touchdown-to-interception ratio (15 to 1) in the NFL. He's thrown at least three touchdowns four times and has Green Bay riding a three-game winning streak heading into Week 7 vs. Carolina.

Despite a fairly strong start from Rodgers, coach Mike McCarthy indicates there might be even more room for improvement.

"I've seen him play better," McCarthy said, per ESPN. "I just think one thing from the standard that he's set and all the little things he's done at a high level, he's got a lot of good football in front of him. I mean, the way we're taking care of the football, the big plays and timely plays -- exceptional. No doubt about it. It's not really as much his individual performance I'm referring to. It's our focus this week offensively is we were not clearly as efficient as we want to be after six games. So that's a focus of ours, and it's part of the way we spent our time here the last couple days."
