Wes Welker has six grabs in first game back from suspension
by Igor Mello |

Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker checked in as the third receiver in the second quarter of Week 3 in Seattle, his first game back from suspension.

Welker caught passes for 3 and 9 yards on that drive for his only grabs in the first half. However, he bounced back and earned a bigger role in the aerial attack in the second half, receiving six targets in the final two quarters. Welker caught six of the eight passes thrown his way for 60 yards in a 26-20 overtime defeat.

The Broncos have a bye week, so Welker will get a full week of rest before squaring off at home against the Cardinals in Week 5.

Wes Welker ready for Week 3
by Igor Mello |

Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker was ruled active for Week 3 against Seattle, a Super Bowl matchup.

It will be Welker's first game since he was reinstated Wednesday after serving two games of his suspension. It will also be his first game since suffering a concussion in preseason. NFL Insider Jason La Canfora indicated that there is "no guarantee on number of snaps."

La Canfora: Wes Welker will play, but how much?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported Sunday morning that Broncos receiver Wes Welker had no setbacks and will be active for the team's Week 3 game at Seattle. However, because the Broncos have a lot of playmakers on offense there is "no guarantee on number of snaps," La Canfora says.

Welker missed the first two weeks of the season while suspended for a violation of the league's drug policy, a suspension that was cut short after the league and player's association agreed to a new policy. Welker also suffered his third concussion in less than a year during the preseason.

Don't be afraid of Wes Welker in Week 3
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Wes Welker is allowed to play this week after the NFL and NFLPA agreed to a new drug policy.

You'll have to gauge where Welker fits with your lineup after he's been out for two games, but we like him as a borderline No. 2/3 receiver for this matchup.

Keep in mind the last two slot receivers against the Seahawks in Randall Cobb and Eddie Royal each had six catches, with Cobb scoring a touchdown, and Welker had eight catches for 84 yards against Seattle in the Super Bowl loss.

Don't be afraid of the Denver receivers in this game. Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Welker all still have the chance to shine despite the tough environment and opponent. We don't recommend benching any of them outright.
