Saints' Dannell Ellerbe: Practicing in full
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

After appearing in only six games last season, Ellerbe has been a full go all training camp, Saints beat writer Mike Triplett reports.

Ellerbe played in only one game for the Dolphins in 2014 due to injury and struggled to stay healthy in his first campaign in New Orleans as well. When he was on the field, however, Ellerbe was impressive, racking up 39 tackles (34 solo) in just six games, including a 13-tackle performance against Atlanta in October. If he's able to stay on the field -- admittedly a big "if" given his checkered injury history -- Ellerbe could be a valuable option in IDP leagues as the starting weak-side linebacker.

Saints' Dannell Ellerbe: Expected to be ready for start of camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ellerbe (undisclosed) said he will be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp in late July, The Times-Picayune reports.

Traded from Miami to New Orleans last year, Ellerbe had 39 tackles (34 solo) in six games, after playing just one game in his final season with the Dolphins. His injury struggles forced him to accept a pay cut in the offseason, even though he could still have a three-down role if he's able to stay healthy. There's been no indication he's dealing with anything serious, but he did miss some practices during OTAs and minicamp while nursing a couple of minor issues. If healthy, Ellerbe will likely join Stephone Anthony and James Laurinaitis in the base defense, but it's unclear which player would get most of the snaps next to Anthony in nickel packages.

Saints' Dannell Ellerbe: Agrees to restructured deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dannell Ellerbe and the New Orleans Saints agreed to a restructured contract, ESPN's Field Yates reports.

Ellerbe signed a five-year, $35 contract with the Dolphins in 2013, then was traded to the Saints in March 2015. He's mostly been effective when healthy, but with just seven games played over the last two seasons, it was inevitable that he'd either accept a pay cut or be released. The Saints presumably have him penciled in as a starter for 2016.

Saints' Dannell Ellerbe: Limited to six games in 2015
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dannell Ellerbe is a candidate to be released or take a pay cut this offseason, according to Mike Triplett of ESPN.com. In six games this year, Ellerbe made 39 tackles (34 solo).

A toe injury suffered in the preseason cost Ellerbe the first month of the year and he missed another month and a half later in the season with a nagging hip injury. In between injuries, Ellerbe, who was acquired by New Orleans in a trade last offseason, showed flashes of brilliance, including a 13-tackle performance against Atlanta in Week 6. If Ellerbe is willing to restructure his contract and, perhaps more importantly, stay healthy, he could be an IDP asset as a starting outside linebacker for the New Orleans Saints .

Saints' Dannell Ellerbe: Active for Sunday's game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dannell Ellerbe (hip) is active for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

Ellerbe was only a limited participant in practices this week, but that was good enough for the New Orleans Saints to clear him to play in his first game since Oct. 25 in Indianapolis. The 30-year-old, who has produced 28 stops in the four games he's played this season, could replace James Anderson at the starting linebacker spot on the weak side.
