Chiefs QB Alex Smith tosses two touchdowns
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith tossed two scores Week 12 against the Raiders.

Smith completed 20 of 36 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He did not turn the ball over during the contest. Smith was his usual conservative self, averaging 6.5 yards per attempt. His longest pass of the day was a 30 yard touchdown to Jamaal Charles, but the ball actually traveled two or three yards past the line of scrimmage. Charles took it the rest of the way. Smith attempted to lead his team back with under two minutes to go, but gained just 24 passing yards on the final drive.

He'll take on the Broncos Week 13.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith doesn't do much Week 11
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith was limited Week 11 against the Seahawks.

Smith was effective during the contest, but didn't have a lot of opportunities to throw. He completed 11 of 16 attempts for 108 yards and no scores. Smith did not turn the ball over during the contest. Smith also had two rushing attempts, but lost 1 yard. The Chiefs were content to run Jamaal Charles during the contest, meaning Smith didn't have to do all that much.

He'll look for more Week 12 against the Raiders.

Alex Smith makes it four straight without a turnover
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith played his usual low-risk football Week 10 at Buffalo, completing 17 of 29 passes for 177 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. But he scored on an 8-yard run with 8:59 left to lift his team to a 17-13 victory.

Smith ran four times for 25 yards and notched his first rushing score of the year. This was his fourth straight game without a turnover.

Smith plays the Seahawks in Week 11.

Alex Smith his own worst enemy in Week 9
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

The Jets entered Week 9 having allowed the most Fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, and for two quarters, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith looked like he'd put them in an even deeper hole, throwing for 131 yards and two touchdowns. But with the Chiefs leading 21-7 at halftime and the Jets failing to mount any sort of comeback, he played it as conservatively as possible thereafter, throwing for only 68 yards in the second half.

And that's why he'll never be a game-changer in Fantasy. When he's throwing well, the Chiefs usually do a good job of protecting the lead, allowing him to revert to a game-manager role. When he's not throwing well, that's all the more reason for him to keep throwing.

He's fine as a bye-week replacement, and with six quarterbacks on bye again, you may need him in Week 10. But his matchup at Buffalo is an iffy one. The Bills have allowed as many touchdown passes as they've recorded interceptions (12) this season.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith throws two TDs in Week 9 win
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith threw two first-half touchdowns Sunday, which proved to be the difference in a 24-10 win Week 9 vs. N.Y. Jets. Smith completed 21 of 31 passes for 199 yards and avoided turning the ball over in Sunday's win.

Smith got a lucky bounce on his first touchdown pass. His intended pass was deflected by a defender, but the ball somehow landed in the lap of tight end Anthony Fasano, who was on the ground at the 1-yard line. Fasano quickly got up and dove for the goal line. He was awarded a 2-yard touchdown, as Kansas City went up 14-0.

Smith's second touchdown was a 12-yard completion to Travis Kelce with 39 seconds left in the first half, which gave Kansas City a 21-7 lead.

Smith had his first multitouchdown game in four weeks and third of the season Sunday. It was his third straight game without an interception. The Chiefs are back in action Week 10 at Buffalo.
