Chiefs QB Alex Smith has big yardage totals in Week 4 loss to Bengals
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed 31 of 45 passes for 386 yards in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals . He also rushed five times for 25 yards in the 36-21 defeat.

The veteran posted his highest yardage output of the season, but he could not cash in with a touchdown, as the Chiefs were limited to seven field goals in the game. Smith has put together some respectable stat lines this season, with an improved group of skill players around him, and he is currently on pace to shatter his career-high in passing yards. Week 3 will pit Smith against a Chicago Bears team that has already allowed 10 passing touchdowns this season.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith throws for 290 Yards in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed 24 of 40 passes for 290 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Monday night's loss to the Packers.

Smith also rushed six times for 33 yards. The veteran's 290 passing yards marked a season high, but mostly came after the Chiefs fell behind early, thus resulting in an uncharacteristic 40 throwing attempts.

While Smith also made a poor decision on his interception, he'll be relieved by having finally thrown a touchdown pass to a wide receiver, as new addition Jeremy Maclin found pay dirt Monday and displayed a solid understanding with Smith throughout the game.

Chiefs QB Alex Smith throws two interceptions in loss
by Rotowire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed 16 of 25 passes for 191 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Broncos.

Smith took a beating from the Denver pass rush, but he was also responsible for a number of mistakes. The Chiefs were either leading or tied until the final 30 seconds, which contributed to a 29:25 run:pass ratio.

Smith did pitch in 15 yards on three carries, but it wasn't nearly enough to save his night. He'll draw a more favorable matchup next time out, facing the Packers at Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football.

Chiefs' Jeremy Maclin says he's off to a 'great start' with Alex Smith
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

With Jeremy Maclin in the fold, the Chiefs could take more shots down the field in 2015 after totaling only 27 deep passes in 2014, which was last in the NFL.

While Maclin won't hint at the Chiefs' game plan, he is pleased with the rapport he is building with quarterback Alex Smith.

"I think me and Alex are off to a great start," Maclin told ESPN.com. "I think our comfort level with each other is pretty high. It kind of feels like this is not our first rodeo. I think we’ve hooked up a lot in practice on timing, on plays where he is just kind of throwing the ball and trusting me to make the play and stuff like that. I think we want to continue to get better, but I think we’re off to a great, great start."
