Hartline, who recorded his third touchdown of the season last week, added No. 4 in the third quarter Sunday, on a 4-yard reception from Ryan Tannehill. Hartline dragged his feet on the side of the end zone but was originally ruled out. A replay review overturned the call and rewarded Hartline with the score.
Hartline finished the game with five receptions for 51 yards, as he continues to lead the team in most receiving categories. He enters Week 15 against the Patriots with 67 receptions for 855 yards, while ranking second on the team with four touchdowns.
Coming off arguably his best game of the season,
The Steelers have been a very middle-of-the-road passing defense this season, holding opposing wide receivers to 21.0 Fantasy points per game, good for 15th in the league. That number is much higher in recent weeks, as the Steelers are surrendering 29.8 Fantasy points over the last five contests.
Despite a matchup that might not be as bad as it looks at first glance, Hartline is unlikely to enjoy an encore performance. He has topped 100 yards just twice this season, in Weeks 1 and 13. He has been reliable, but hardly explosive for much of the season, a trend that should continue in Week 14. Consider Hartline just a low-end starting option.
Hartline was targeted 15 times in the passing game, and took advantage in a season-best performance. He led the team with nine receptions for 127 yards, 31 of which came on his third touchdown of the season. He matched his season-high in catches, while edging out his Week 1 total of 114 yards.
Hartline is edging closer to his second 1,000-yard season in a row. He heads into Week 14 against the Steelers with 62 receptions for 804 yards.
The Jets have been one of the league's worst defenses against wide receivers, allowing 25.3 Fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, Hartline's track record does not make a big performance likely. Even during his big breakout season a year ago, Hartline managed just 82 yards on five catches in two games against the Jets.
Hartline has five catches in each of the last three games, while racking up between 57 and 78 yards in each game. He has been dependable, but rarely more than that, a trend that is unlikely to turn around in Week 13.
