Chargers' Adrian Phillips: Signs tender from Chargers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Phillips signed his exclusive rights tender from the Chargers on Thursday, Ricky Henne of the team's official site reports.

Phillips has worked his way from the Chargers' practice squad in 2014 to fill-in starter last season, culminating with six starts among 14 appearances. The elevated workload translated to 38 tackles (25 solo), three passes defended, and one interception in the latter campaign, but he's destined for a reserve gig in 2017 with No. 1 strong safety Jahleel Addae proving his health down the stretch.

Chargers' Branden Oliver: Re-signs with Chargers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Chargers agreed to a contract with Oliver on Thursday, Adam Caplan of ESPN reports.

Oliver sustained a devastating Achilles tear near the end of the preseason slate, missing the entire 2016 campaign as a result. The injury was one of many to the Chargers' backfield, who lost Danny Woodhead (torn ACL) and Melvin Gordon (knee/hip) at various points during the season. After Woodhead bolted to the Ravens this offseason, the Chargers don't have an experienced hand behind Gordon on the RB depth chart. No matter, some combination of Oliver, Kenneth Farrow (shoulder), and recent pickup Kenjon Barner are seemingly capable if called upon in brief bursts.

Chargers' Geremy Davis: Signs free-agent tender
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Davis, an exclusive-rights free agent, signed his contract tender with the Chargers on Monday, Richy Henne of the team's official site reports.

Davis appeared in three games for the Chargers last season but received just two total targets and caught neither of them. He initially slots in as nothing more than the No. 7 wide receiver on the depth chart and will need to fight for a roster spot in training camp this summer.

Chargers' Kenjon Barner: Hooks up with Chargers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Chargers and Barner (hamstring) agreed to terms of a contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Seeking some stability behind Melvin Gordon (knee) following the departure of Danny Woodhead (knee), the Chargers have added Barner to a backfield that includes holdover Kenneth Farrow (shoulder). Barner is less experienced in a lead role than Farrow, who earned two starts down the stretch last season when Gordon was lost for the season with a sprained PCL and hip strain. At the very least, though, Barner's kick-return chops will be valuable after averaging 30.8 yards on his nine attempts with the Eagles during the 2016 campaign.

Chargers' Keenan Allen: Still not 100 percent heading into team activities
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Allen (knee) won't be a full participant when the Chargers begin team activities April 3, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given Allen is less than a year removed from tearing his ACL. However the 25-year-old did state he is almost able to do "everything", including running and cutting, which would indicate Allen should be ready to go for training camp. Should Allen stay healthy, he figures to be a major force in an offense that loves to chuck the ball.
